Amazon Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings prequel series will have a total of 20 episodes in its first season, Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey — part of the creative team — has said in a new interview. He also revealed the restrictions they’re operating in, with the First and Third Ages “off-limits”.
