No matter how much you love your cappuccinos, they're no substitute for the benefits of a good night’s sleep. Not only does sleep improve your memory, balance, and mood, it also reduces your blood pressure and staves off obesity. Sleep may even be a weapon in the battle against Alzheimer’s.

To get the seven-to-nine hours of sleep your body requires, the American Sleep Association (ASA) recommends that you forgo electronic devices and television before bedtime, eschew caffeine and cigarettes, and add exercise to your daily routine. Just as important, it says, you need a comfortable bed.

This is where Nolah can help.

As you know, choosing a bed isn’t simple. Each person has individual needs–for example, the right level of firmness–and even the best mattresses on the market might not be the best for you.

That’s why Nolah offers a line of five distinct mattresses, so you can find the perfect night’s sleep…at an affordable price. For a limited time only, you can get up to $700 off Nolah mattresses during our Memorial Day sale. Also for a limited time, Nolah will have you sleep easy with its 10-year mattress protection plan, for only $29.

Even better, Nolah is offering an extra $50 off to viewers of this promotion. Nolah mattresses are backed by a lifetime warranty. Plus, by using Affirm, you can choose a monthly or biweekly installment plan.

Nolah mattresses are built with either proprietary AirFoam™ or best-of-breed Talalay latex–a natural material that is breathable, durable, and hypoallergenic. The ASA suggests you sleep in a room with a temperature between 60 and 68F. And Nolah’s AirFoam™ mattresses are 100 percent temperature neutral, so they don’t retain heat.

Nolah’s innovative technology is the result of engineers driven to improve their mattresses because of their own sleep struggles, including back pain and poor circulation. So Nolah’s trademarked HD Max™ Tri-Zone™ coils help you maintain proper spinal alignment while you sleep–critical to preventing back and neck pain. Nolah mattresses take the weight off your shoulders, back, hips, and knees while keeping your spine supported and aligned, reducing the strain on muscles and ligaments for comfortable, pain-free sleep. It’s no wonder that Nolah is where dreams and technology meet.

Apple might be ending Lightning ports and finally embracing the industry-standard USB-C ports.

Recently, industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted on Twitter that the iPhone 15 will have a USB-C port instead of the now decade-old Lightning port, making the iPhone 14 the last of its kind. The prediction might have been right on the money as a recent Bloomberg report reveals that Apple is testing out USB-C ports on iPhones.

The information comes from anonymous sources who claim to have insider knowledge of Apple’s future iPhone plans. Take this information with a grain of salt as Apple is not confirming - naturally - and these reports could be offbase.

All that aside, the report goes on to say that you won’t see USB-C until 2023. iPhone 14 (the assumed name) models coming out in 2022 are expected to retain Lightning ports. Apple is also reportedly working on a special adapter that would allow future USB-C iPhones to work with accessories housing Lightning ports.

A switch to USB-C would shake up a lot of things. For starters, it would lessen Apple’s grip over the industry and companies that make Apple accessories. They would no longer be forced to abide by strict approval guidelines

And if there are fewer companies making Lightning connectors, that would interfere with the usability of devices like AirPods. It’s entirely possible Apple could make another USB-C adapter for Apple accessories, but this report offered no indication of that possibility.

New EU law

The report’s sources didn’t say why Apple is potentially doing this, but there’s a good chance it would have something to do with recent European legislation.

Back in April, the EU’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee approved a mandate that will force all smartphones to use USB–C connectors and ports as a universal standard. The EU claims this law will reduce e-waste in the fight against climate change. However, it won’t take effect until 2026.

As you can imagine, Apple wasn’t happy. The company told TechRadar in 2021 that this law "…stifles innovation" and could hurt consumers around the world. Apple has tried to work with the EU, but so far the two entities have yet to see eye to eye.

Better speeds

Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter states that if Apple does go through with USB-C, it will improve the iPhone’s transfer and charging speeds. But the fast speeds are dependent on future hardware. You also won’t have to buy extra accessories if you decide to switch from an Android.

There is still a small chance that the EU law might get dropped and a possibility Apple will stick to its guns. Hopefully, Apple goes through with USB-C iPhone regardless so we won’t have to buy extra cables.

With nearly 50m active users, it’s no surprise that cybercriminals continue to target the popular online game Roblox with all manner of scams and attacks.

According to new research from Checkpoint, researchers from Avanan discovered a trojan file hidden inside the legitimate Synapse X scripting tool which is used to inject exploits or cheat codes into Roblox.

Share your thoughts on Cybersecurity and get a free copy of the Hacker's Manual 2022. Help us find how businesses are preparing for the post-Covid world and the implications of these activities on their cybersecurity plans. Enter your email at the end of this survey to get the bookazine, worth $10.99/£10.99.

Cybercriminals have begun leveraging Synapse X to install a self-executing program on Windows PCs that installs library files into the Windows system folder. This has the potential to break applications, corrupt or remove data or even send information back to the cybercriminals responsible.

Avanan researchers first found the trojan file used in the latest round of Roblox attacks inside a customer’s OneDrive. While the customer could have uploaded it to their cloud storage by mistake, the cloud email and collaboration security company scanned the file and labeled it as malicious.

Putting family and even business PCs at risk

The specific version of Synapse X used in these attacks against Roblox users drops three files on a victim’s system with one of them being a backdoor trojan.

From here, the trojan installs library files (DLL) into the victim’s Windows system folder and this malicious code can be perpetually referenced by Windows and remain running.

In addition to being able to break applications and listen to files, these attacks are particularly concerning due to the fact that Roblox is mainly played by children. As a result, the trojan can easily be installed on a personal computer which may not even have antivirus software installed. However, there’s also a corporate risk, since employees working from home may let their children play Roblox on their business laptops.

After finding this new trojan targeting Roblox users, Avanan reached out to the Roblox Corporation and the two have been communicated via email with plans to connect further via phone regarding the issue.

In order to protect your devices from these kinds of attacks, Checkpoint recommends that users avoid downloading files from untrusted sites, use malware scanning when accessing cloud storage services like OneDrive and Google Drive and install an antivirus on all of their personal computers.

A new Google Chrome update is looking to make online shopping more secure by using virtual cards.

Announced at the company's Google IO 2022 event, the move will boost user privacy by giving the option to autofil details of a virtual card when prompted in the browser, including the long card number, expiry date, and three-digit CVV number.

Doing so should help keep a user's actual card details safe from fraud, as well as making sure they aren't stored on a merchant's database, where they could be compromised in a data breach.

Google Chrome virtual cards

Google is working with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Capital One to launch the new system, which will initially only be available in the US before hopefully rolling out to other markets soon.

The company says the move will add an extra layer of security when paying online using a payment gateway, removing the need to manually enter card details for each purchase, much like how paying via contactless card in a physical store does away with the need to enter a PIN number, or the seller ever seeing your long card number.

Users can manage their virtual card details at pay.google.com, where they will also be able to enable or disable the feature for eligible cards, as well as viewing their virtual card number and track recent transactions.

Google says the virtual cards will probably be used most commonly for one-off purchases, but can also be harnessed for repeat use or subscriptions. The company adds that it won't use any data based on virtual card usage for ad targeting, but this does seem unlikely.

The tool will be available via Chrome Autofill on desktop (ChromeOS, Mac, Windows, and Linux) with Android and iOS editions set to arrive soon.

Depending on your card provider, you'll have different options on what kind of virtual cards you'll see. Google noted that Capital One members will receive an individual virtual card on every site, however Visa and American Express will use a single card across all sites, but use a different CVV each time.

Bethesda has announced it’s delayed its space-based RPG Starfield until 2023. In the same announcement, it also revealed that Redfall, the new co-op shooter from Arkane Studios will also not be released in 2022 as originally planned.

“We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023,” Bethesda writes. “The teams at Arkane Austin  and Bethesda Game Studios have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them.”

While Redfall has only been out in the open since its reveal at last year’s E3, it’s been a very long journey for Starfield. The RPG, described by Bethesda Softworks’ director Todd Howard as “Skyrim in space”, has been rattling around in the minds of the studio’s designers for more than 25 years.

It’s been a long wait for fans, too, who first spotted the title’s trademark back in 2013. Even then, it was another five years before Bethesda released a teaser trailer for the game, and another three before the studio actually revealed it at E3 2021.

The trailer, the first real tease of Starfield at all, included a release date. November 11, 2022. A bold play, but, as Todd Howard told the Washington Post at the time "We're confident in the date. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be announcing it.”

Still, with no in-game footage since that announcement, only a set of concept art trailers, it’s not too surprising to hear Bethesda’s delayed its ‘Skyrim in Space’.

Though, while both Redfall and Starfield won’t now be released until 2023, there is still a good chance both games will be making an appearance at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase on June 12, so hopefully, we’ll at least get a look at how they play. After all, ‘Skyrim in space’ is a great way of suggesting the scope and scale of a game, but it doesn’t do any favors when it comes to judging if it will be a modern RPG.

The real question, though, is what games will we have to look forward to in 2022, with everything getting delayed?

If there's one common gripe we have with Android tablets, it's the software - we commonly complain about how stock Android just doesn't work well for big screens, not like iPadOS does for iPads. But that could be about to change.

At Google IO 2022, an annual conference for... well, everything Google, the company announced that Android 13 will bring a huge redesign of how the company's software works on big-screen devices.

We didn't hear when this update will roll out, but hopefully soon - at least in beta form. Expect new tablets from Samsung, Lenovo and more to come with it soon - those brands were name-checked on stage.

So what's new?

The biggest main change is a redesign for the tablet software home page, to make apps fit together better without wasting space. Widgets sound redesigned for the same purposes too.

Multi-tasking has seen an update, so it's super convenient to place two apps side-by-side and use them simultanously. You can even re-open paired apps like how you can in iPadOS, in case there are two apps you use together all the time.

Something that's also really exciting is that the swipe-down quick options have seen an impressive redesign to make them much more convenient. Now, when you swipe down, your settings will appear on the left, and the notifications on the right - previously, they appeared on top of each other, which wasn't exactly space-efficient.

Lots of apps are getting redesigned for big screens. These include Google's own ones like Entertainment Space and YouTube Music, and third-party ones like Zoom, Facebook and Canva.

Oh, and on top of that, all the Android 13 updates are coming too.

Now can the new features help Android tablets compete against the best iPads? We'll have to see how the new features work in the real world, but it's definitely encouraging.
