The Google Pixelbook Go is easily the best Chromebook money can buy right now and it's a brilliant showcase for what a powerful Chromebook is capable of doing. But all that excellent hardware also makes it one of the most pricey Chromebooks you can buy, so these early Black Friday Chromebook deals on the Pixelbook Go definitely caught our attention.

With early Black Friday deals rolling out ahead of next week's big event, we've been keeping our eyes peeled for some great Chromebook offers, and Amazon is coming through, offering an Intel Core i5-powered Pixelbook Go for just $719, a $129 savings.

This configuration doesn't go on sale very often, so 5% off its MSRP is definitely better than the full retail price we're used to seeing.

The two Google Pixelbook Go configurations on sale right now both have an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, a 13.3-inch 1080p display, and a 128GB SSD, with the only difference being the amount of RAM.

The 8GB RAM model has the deepest discount (15%), and while it "only" has 8GB RAM, this is still a Chromebook, so 8GB is a lot of RAM for a laptop like this. The lightweight Chrome OS will have plenty room to multitask and run several native apps without any trouble with this configuration.

If you really want to go all in with the 16GB model, you still get to save some money, but not quite as much. At 5% off the retail price of $999, you're saving about $50, which isn't nothing, but given that this is a Chromebook, 16GB RAM is really a bit overkill.

If you want a Chromebook with full-fledged laptop specs, definitely go in for the 16GB RAM model and save yourself some money, but we definitely think the 8GB model is the better Black Friday Chromebook deal of the two.

Watch out Spotify, Tidal has announced a new free tier of the service that will allow you to stream 80 million songs from its library without ads.

The Tidal Free, as it’s aptly named, will vary from the company’s famed HiFi and HiFi Plus tiers by offering a significantly lower bitrate for audio streaming (160Kbps vs 1411Kbps on HiFi) and Tidal says it will interrupt users periodically to remind them about Hi-Fi. That last bit could change later, but for now Tidal says it won’t have ads.

That being said, the Free tier will also miss out on niceties like lyrics or offline downloads. Those features will be reserved for the paid tiers of the service. 

Finally, according to Billboard, there will also be a difference in how the service pays artists based on which streaming tiers they use. For example, if a user has the Free tier, their listening habits won’t directly contribute money directly to your favorite artists - they’ll be paid based on a collective number of listens. That’s different from the new Direct Artist Payout plan coming to Tidal HiFi Plus that will send 10% of your monthly subscription fee to your most-listened to artist.

Analysis: Is this Tidal’s big attempt to take on Spotify? 

For years, Tidal has differentiated itself from other audio streaming services by its commitment to CD-quality audio - but that selling point has since been copied by Apple Music and, soon, Spotify HiFi. 

This new free tier seems like the obvious way to attract new customers as other services continue to copy Tidal’s strategic advantage. 

Still, it does sound like a better user experience - ads are the worst part of Spotify’s base subscription tier and currently Apple doesn’t have a free way to choose songs on Apple Music. Being able to choose which songs you listen to without ads is the ideal scenario.

How long that will be the case, however, remains to be seen.

Google has announced that paid Google Workspace users will soon be able to delete Spaces group chats completely from Google Chat.

According to a new blog post, the search giant is bringing the ability to delete named Spaces in Google Chat to Google Workspace Business Standard and Business Starter editions first though it plans to extend this capability to other versions of its online collaboration tool next year.

Once this new feature rolls out, creators of a Space will be able to fully delete it along with all of the room tasks, files and attachments not saved elsewhere from Google Chat. Once a Space has been deleted, all of its members will no longer be able to access the space, its files or the member list.

Deleting Spaces in Google Chat

In addition to eliminating clutter and making it easier to navigate to frequently used Spaces, the ability to delete a group chat in Google Chat can also be useful for employees concerned that management may be going through their old messages.

In its blog post, Google points out that this feature is not available for Google Workspace editions that come equipped with the company's information governance and eDiscovery tool Google Vault. If a business upgrades from the Business Standard or Business Starter edition of Workspace to one that supports Google Vault, they will lose the ability to delete named Spaces.

While this feature will initially be available to Google Workspace Business Standard, G Suite Basic and Business Starter customers, Google plans to make it available to all editions of its online collaboration tool next year.

Samsung has now gone live with its Black Friday sale, offering a host of big savings on smartwatches, headphones, handsets and more. But, for anyone after a new smartphone, it's a collection of discounts on the S21 series which are most interesting.

Samsung has heavily discounted all three Samsung Galaxy S21 devices, including multiple storage sizes on the regular model, Plus and Ultra devices. While they aren't the cheapest prices the handsets have ever fallen, they aren't far off.

For most people, it is the discount on Samsung Galaxy S21 deals which is most interesting. Samsung has brought the price down to £649 (£120 off) - only £30 off the lowest price ever.
