The release date of Battlegrounds Mobile India has been the subject of speculation ever since the game was revealed earlier this month. A previous theory posited that the game could be launching on June 10.

But according to this new report by IGN India, industry insiders have leaked that Krafton is looking to release the game on June 18. As for Krafton there is no official news from their end.

A blog addressing the release date of the game on the official Battlegrounds Mobile India website writes, "We are still in the process of finalizing the launch date, we will keep our fans informed on further developments. New updates will be released on our official website and social networks, so please stay tuned for further news!"

As for the previous theory, it came into being after one of the teasers of the game was released by the company on social handles. Though we should warn readers that this is literally a theory that netizens have come up with, and hence people should take this with a large pinch of salt.

The theory comes from the teaser of Battlegrounds Mobile India which shows a level 3 helmet with a ring of light around it. This image is reminiscent of a solar eclipse with the moon blocking the sun and forming what is known as a diamond ring. The level three helmet here is playing the object blocking the source of light.

People assumed that this image could be a reference to the release date of the game which could be on June 10 which is the date of the Annular Solar Eclipse. For what it's worth, silhouettes are a very common part of teaser campaigns.

The game went for pre-registration on May 18, and the June 18 date gives it a months pre-registration time which is rather common with big developers. Hence it seems a more logical and reasonable release date.

Clubhouse, the by-invitation-only audio chat platform that was rolled out for Android users globally from May 21 (for those in the US it was available from May 9), has had over one million users in a week.

This was revealed in its Townhall held yesterday (May 23). It further emerged that the Clubhouse's Android platform will be brought up to speed with iOS and users will be able to add it like they do their other socials like Instagram and Twitter.

"We are working really hard to get the feature parity in the Android version similar to that of the iOS. It is very important to us that the app has the same set of features,” Paul Davidson, co-founder of the platform, said.

Clubhouse, it is learnt, will also expand its payments feature to Android in the next few weeks.

India numbers in Android may help Clubhouse regain its popularity

Clubhouse has rolled out some new features, and they include showing everyone that has tipped you and a way to thank the tippers, availability of history of people you listened to and tagging of profiles in bio.

Among the impending updates are: - The rollout of tipping feature, suggested people to follow, prompts for topic suggestions, adding bell to RSVP to events directly on the club page and fixing of Bio bugs.

Clubhouse also said it was working on the complaints of those who had signed up recently on the Android platform. Many users who tried to sign up had reported that the verification process isn't working as advertised.

They claimed they didn't receive verification codes and when they tried re-entering their phone numbers, they were either told that the number entered is incorrect or not supported.

The million downloads in a week should provide some respite to Clubhouse as its early popularity had been taken away by new entrants like Twitter Spaces. It is why Clubhouse hastened its Android launch. Clubhouse has not spelt out its numbers country-wise. But India could account for a fair share of downloads given that Android accounts for over 95% of the smartphones owned in the country.

TCL sure has been busy lately, having recently released two budget smartphone options in Australia with the TCL 20 SE and the TCL 20 5G, and now the Chinese manufacturer has added a third entry in its 20 Series range with the TCL 20L Plus.

The TCL 20L Plus offers a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with pinhole selfie camera, and like the other two phones in the 20 Series, sports TCL's proprietary NXTVISION visual technology, which is said to improve colour, clarity and contrast in real-time.

According to TCL, its latest model is the "very first phone to come with TÜV Rheinland Circular Polarization Certification and Low Blue Light Certification," which it says will allow "users to see their display, while wearing sunglasses, with natural colours in any environment." It also boasts adaptive brightness up to 500 nits.

Camera and specs

For many, the TCL 20L Plus' biggest selling point is likely to be its quad camera array, led by an impressive 64MP primary sensor, which is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, you have a 16MP selfie camera with Super Night mode.

In terms of specs, the TCL 20L Plus brings a Snapdragon 662 processor, 6GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage (with the option for microSD expansion), along with a 5,000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.

At a very affordable AU$399, the new TCL 20 Plus sits right between the TCL 20 SE (AU$299) and the TCL 20 5G (AU$499) in terms of price, and is now available to purchase in Milky Way Gray or North Star Blue from Harvey Norman and Officeworks.
