PUBG Mobile India has been eluding us ever since its existence was announced last November. While we await further official confirmation, a new development suggests that the company is getting ready for some big moves.

In September 2020, PUBG Mobile one of the 118 apps banned by the Indian government owing to mishandling of user data in an unauthorized manner. As a response, Karfton decoupled with China-based Tencent for its Indian operations and announced that it will create an entirely new game that will comply with the local regulations — called PUBG Mobile India. However, while the new version is supposedly ready, it is yet to gain the necessary approvals to go live.

In a turn of events that could indicate that PUBG Mobile India is a step closer to release, PUBG Corporation is now hiring in India for multiple roles across verticals. Posted on Linkedin recently, these include positions such as a product manager, product analyst, publisher, investment analyst, marketing manager and video editor.

The range of these openings suggests that PUBG Mobile India will not just be a forked version of the global game, but have some localisations and customizations from the get, along with separate events and partnerships for the community. All the roles are based in Bangalore, where PUBG India Pvt Ltd was incorporated in November.

A hiring spree of this nature does raise our hopes that PUBG Mobile India will be with us soon. It’s been six months since the initial announcement, but official updates have been few.

A few days ago, a couple of popular eSports players from the country also hinted that PUBG Mobile India could launch in two months' time. The timeline does match with other previous reports.

As always, take this development with a grain of salt and await official communication on the PUBG Mobile India launch, before jumping to conclusions.

The data of close to 1.3 million Clubhouse users have been posted to a hacker forum, but the company denied claims of any hacking, and suggested that the data was publicly available information.

But coming on the back of data leak at Facebook and LinkedIn, in which a collective total of over one billion profiles were hacked, this leak at Clubhouse does give room for fear among users.

But the company is putting a brave front. Clubhouse called reports that it was hacked as "misleading and false."

"Clubhouse has not been breached or hacked. The data referred to is all public profile information from our app, which anyone can access via the app or our API," the company claimed.

What was the leak?

The info in the SQL database covers a bunch of personal information.

The leaked database from Clubhouse is said to contain, among others: User ID, name, photo URL, username, Twitter handle, Instagram handle, number of followers, number of people followed by the user.

Much of these details could, anyway, be publicly accessed. So the claim from Clubhouse here is that it doesn't include sensitive information such as a password or an email address, which could be more damaging.

The leak is the latest in a string of attacks where hackers scrape data from major services and dump them for open public viewing. Recently, a cache of 500 million LinkedIn profiles were shared in the same way. Before that it was Facebook that bore the brunt.

The SQL breach at Clubhouse as put out by Cybernews

Can't take Clubhouse scrape easy

This is not the only security scare at Clubhouse. Earlier this year, Clubhouse upgraded its security over concerns malafide actors in China could potentially spy on users.

Analysts warn that details from leaked SQL database can be combined with other data breaches, and detailed profiles of potential victims can be created. Worse, the hackers can pull off phishing and social engineering attacks or even commit identity theft.

Clubhouse users, in general, have been advised to avoid suspicious messages and connection requests from strangers. They can also reset the password of their account as a matter of safety.

With development of EA Dice's next Battlefield title well under way, rumors about the upcoming war shooter have been flying thick and fast of late.

The latest rumor, once again tweeted by noted Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson and picked up by TweakTown, claims that the next game in the series will feature robotic attack dogs as part of your arsenal.

Henderson tweeted that your robot attack dog will be "more like Boston Dynamics Mule that can run really fast and potentially has a weapon on it," and that "it looks like it could be a new vehicle type instead of a gadget."

The leaker recently made headlines with claims that Battlefield 6 is cross-gen and will feature 128-player maps, will be set in the near-future and that it will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Like with any rumor, we advise you to definitely take these leaks with a pinch of salt. That said, if any of this information does prove to be accurate, we could be looking at the most exciting instalment of Battlefield in years.

At present, it's believed that Battlefield 6 will be officially revealed in May and is on track for a release in late 2021.

The next instalment of eBay Tuesdays will bring another round of steep savings to the online marketplace, with deals on Lenovo laptops, a DJI drone and a cheap gaming headset from Sennheiser.

Tomorrow (April 13), eBay Plus members will be in with a chance to grab a Lenovo IdeaPad C340 for just AU$319. The deal will land at 10am AEST, and a limited number of 95 units will be available.

The deal will be exclusive to eBay Plus members, but if you haven’t signed up previously, you’ll be eligible for a free 30-day trial of the service to score today’s deals.

We don’t know the exact specs of the Lenovo laptop yet, and there are various configurations it could be. Judging by the image on the eBay Tuesdays homepage though, it looks like it’ll be the Chromebook version.

The Chromebook C340 is a 2-in-1 with an 11-inch display. It comes with an Intel Celeron N4000 CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 64GB eMMC for storage. The model is now discontinued on Lenovo’s own site, while some retailers still have it in stock for AU$399.

The Lenovo 100e Chromebook will also be dropping on the site tomorrow at 10am AEST, and there’ll only be 126 units for AU$235.20. Again, this model is no longer available on Lenovo’s own web store, though other retailers have it listed for around AU$329.

We’ll update you here once we have confirmation of the specs for both Lenovo laptops.

As always, there are more deals to snap up on eBay Tuesdays. Plus members will also be able to nab the DJI Mavic Mini Fly More Combo for AU$439 – a huge discount off its retail price of AU$799.

The Fly More Combo adds two extra batteries for the Mavic Mini, plus a two-way charging hub that can double up as a power bank and a 360-degree propellor guard. The drone retails for AU$599 on its own, so this is a killer deal if you want a beginner drone that’s small and light.

There’ll be 250 units available, which will drop in batches of 125 units at 10am and 4pm AEST on April 13.

Finally, gamers can grab a Sennheiser GSP 350 headset for a super-cheap AU$39. This wired gaming headset comes with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound, and it’s likely best-suited to PC gamers.

The headphones come with an official RRP of AU$219, but eBay Plus members can grab one for real cheap tomorrow at 10am and 4pm AEST, with 500 units available in total.
