The supernatural Western has been dogged by financial difficulties, with its loyal fans battling for this season to be made and desperate for it to be picked up elsewhere.

Based on the comic by Beau Smith and starring Melanie Scrofano as titular heroine and great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, the show has built up a sizeable online following since the show began airing on Syfy back in 2016.

Production of the fan-favorite show was halted in Canada last year thanks to the coronavirus, causing the airing of season 4 to be split in two, with the first chunk of shows broadcast in July last year, and the concluding run of episode now set to finally air from this week.

While producers are looking for a new home for the hugely popular show, in the meantime these final six episodes will offer Earpers more battles between Wynonna and the revenants, the zombified outlaws that have blighted her family through time.

As organizations now find themselves working with two or more cloud computing providers to meet workload-specific requirements, Dell Technologies and its partner Faction have been working to provide a consistent way to manage storage and data protection for multiple clouds from a single place.

This is currently done through Dell Technologies Cloud Storage for Multi-cloud which combines the performance and enterprise grade features of its storage systems (Dell EMC PowerScale, PowerStore, PowerMax and Unity XT) and native cloud services from leading cloud companies to offer customers simple, flexible, direct multicloud access.

At the same time, Dell also offers a fully managed service called Dell Technologies Cloud PowerProtect for Multi-cloud which enables customers to protect their data and applications across public clouds in a single destination using a low latency connections.

Now though in a new blog post, the tech giant has announced that it is introducing additional multicloud storage and data protection capabilities that make it easier for organizations to recover after a cyberattack.

Cyber recovery for multicloud

In order to boost the security of its PowerProtect for Multi-cloud offering, Dell has decided to add new capabilities to it which combine Dell EMC PowerProtect Cyber Recovery with the simplicity and economics of the cloud.

Now the company's customers can benefit from a both physical and logical isolation of their critical data through an air-gapped and secure Cyber Recovery vault in a cloud-adjacent Faction-powered data center. Should a cyberattack occur, sensitive business data can be recovered from the vault back to an organization's data center or to the cloud of their choice as the service supports AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud.

PowerScale customers that want a full cloud-enabled disaster recovery solution can now take advantage of Superna Eyeglass DR Manager for replication orchestration and metadata management. When used with PowerScale for Multi-Cloud, this solution can replicate data from an organization's data centers to Faction's cloud-adjacent data center. Applications can also be recovered to the cloud-adjacent data center or to a customer's public cloud of choice.

Dell believes that the future of IT is hybrid where public cloud services are balanced with on-premises infrastructure and with these new capabilities, organizations can rest easy knowing their data is protected wherever it resides.

The Walmart-owned eCommerce platform Flipkart has added a feature that allows users to search for their favourite product with the help of their voice. Dubbed as Flipkart Voice Search, the feature is currently available in English and Hindi.

The company believes that the introduction of voice-enabled search will allow users to use the search capability to reach the correct products without the need to know the correct spelling of the product. Flipkart feels that this new feature could have a specific use case in the non-metro cities and smaller towns of the country.

The company said in a prepared statement that the new feature was being rolled out in phases starting January. Flipkart says that Voice Search works for over 150 million products across 80+ categories listed on the platform and it is now getting over 5-million queries every day.

How to use Voice Search on Flipkart

  • To use Voice Search on Flipkart, make sure that you have the latest version of the app running on the phone.
  • Nest, tap on the mic icon on the search bar that is located on top of the home page and the app starts "listening" to your command.
  • You can try searching anything from grocery to fashion to tech or even footwear by speaking in Hindi or English.

The press statement also cites studies conducted by the platform stating that voice search not only is natural to us but is faster as well. The company claims it is 3x faster than typing in English and 5x faster in Hindi.

Adding features that result in a better user experience and offers a regional connect is not new. Both Flipkart and Amazon have introduced regional languages on their respective platforms. This not only helps them to gain a foothold in the hinterland but also offers an emotional connection with the user who’s able to use the application in their regional language.

With over 75% of users in the country coming from Non-English backgrounds, Flipkart may soon add more regional languages, especially focusing on Southern India, to the list of Voice Search.

Flipkart’s competitor, Amazon already has voice searches on the shopping platform and is powered by Alexa, however, it uses the English language primarily. A quick test on both the applications showed that Flipkart’s implementation of Hindi language in voice search was better than Amazon’s.

To say that India needs more electric vehicles is a massive understatement. The market for the consumer-focused electric vehicle has just started hotting up with the launch of a handful of premium electric cars and some battery-operated bikes

While the government has been trying various ways to increase the adoption by offering subsidies to the makers and buyers alike, it is the news around Tesla’s India plans that has given it the necessary attention.

However, apart from Tesla, there is another US-based electric car maker that has been slowly setting its roots in the country. According to the reports, Triton has been actively recruiting people across various experience levels in the Automotive industry for some time and plans to hire over 10,000 people in India.

That is not all, the company had recently inked a deal with the state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to make batteries for electric vehicles in India. According to the agreement, Triton will share the knowledge and technical expertise while BEL will be the exclusive battery maker for Triton.

This agreement also means that the company will be able to participate in the Make in India program run by the central government to promote manufacturing in the country. In a similar context, even Tesla has been in talks with the government to set up one of its Giga factories in the countries.

Triton N4 launch in India

Triton plans to launch the N4 sedan as one of its first vehicles in the county and plans to invest around $650 million to $1 billion in setting up a manufacturing facility in India. It was reported that the company has been in touch with a few state governments to set up a manufacturing plant in the country.

While the company is hiring manpower and is working on getting the batteries made locally, it is also customizing its cars to make them more India friendly.

It was reported that looking at the Indian driving conditions, the N4 in India could come with a solar panel installed on the roof. This is aimed at harnessing solar power to generate power when the vehicle is stuck in a traffic jam or a traffic light.

This will also help in reducing the air conditioning from a 3 KW draw to a 1.3 KW draw and “offsets the losses of mileage or kilometres in India. By just doing this, we are saving about close to 30% of the battery for being used during traffic times,” Triton’s co-founder and CEO, Himanshu Patel, mentioned in a recent interview.

Aside, implementing ways to regenerate energy will not only help curb the range anxiety and could marginally address the lack of charging infrastructure will sure help Triton or any other company edge out its competitors.

Triton N4 price in India

While India’s quest for a practical yet affordable electric car, the Triton N4 will be a premium-priced vehicle. If things go as plans, the N4 could launch in India around the end of the year and is expected to be priced around Rs. 35 lakhs.

This definitely is not the mass market that can help achieve India’s EV dreams, however, it is expected to significantly undercut Tesla’s pricing of Model 3 in India which is said to hover around Rs. 50 lakhs.
