Eager to play Cyberpunk 2077 when it finally comes out on November 19? Want a phone to go with it? An exclusive OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition is on the way, and will be available for pre-sale on November 4 before the game launches. But, sadly, it might only be released in China.

The collaboration between OnePlus and Cyberpunk 2077 studio CD Projekt Red was announced during the OnePlus 8T launch event in China, with a short teaser video showing off the phone within the game, later uploaded to OnePlus' Weibo account. Whether it will actually appear in the long-awaited RPG is uncertain.

We only have news of the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk Edition’s existence, not what it will end up looking like (they didn’t have one on stage) nor when it will be released.

More details are coming in early November, according to a tweet by Radek Grabowski, Lead PR Manager for CD Projekt Red – but given he refers to it as a ‘China-exclusive partnership,’ we might not see this special version in any other region.

Cyberpunk Edition – the new McLaren Edition?

OnePlus had famously released special McLaren Editions of previous phones themed around the luxury automaker (and priced high to match) – versions that had even better specs than the stock models and design flourishes like car seat-quality leather to add to the allure. But that partnership quietly came to an end when McLaren confirmed there wouldn’t be a spruced-up OnePlus 8T McLaren Edition.

The OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition could, of course, be a similarly stylized, high-spec, and high-priced version of the phone, but we’ll have to wait to find out. At the least, it will almost certainly have exterior design effects styled after the upcoming game – in the teaser image shown during the OnePlus 8T launch (visible in Grabowski's tweet), the bare outline of the phone shows a bit of the same bright yellow we've seen in all the game's promotional material.

We’re hoping it’s less of a ‘minimalist nod’ to Cyberpunk’s aesthetics and more of a full-blown overhaul to make it look like a phone we’d find in the futuristic setting, but we’ll wait and see what OnePlus and CD Projekt Red have to offer.

Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga - $769.99 at Amazon
(roughly £600)
The best alternative to Microsoft's new business laptop is the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga, a true 2-in-1 convertible. It's heavier and a tad slower, but has more storage, a higher screen resolution, far more ports and costs less.View Deal

Microsoft has quietly launched the Surface Laptop Go for Business, with the cheapest model starting from $799. However, there appear to be plenty of competitive models around that are worth looking at too.

But first, let’s look at the main selling points of Microsoft's new laptop: it's very light and has a long battery life, powerful CPU, fast Wi-FI and a touch-capable display. It also offers a choice of three refreshing color schemes.

Microsoft is also the only vendor to offer a 36-month PCaaS-like scheme that allows businesses to buy their laptops in interest-free monthly instalments.

The Surface Laptop Go for Business also benefits from 60-day returns, up to 13 hours battery life thanks to extra optimizations and the Advanced Exchange program, which entitles you to an immediate replacement upon request.

On closer inspection, Microsoft has produced a very intriguing product with only one big flaw: its screen resolution is about a third lower than a full HD screen (the strict minimum we’d recommend for any business laptop).

The best alternative, in our eyes, is the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga, which costs slightly less, has more storage and boasts a superior display.

For any tech lover or frequent traveller, a portable charger is a must-have accessory. There are loads of models available, and the latest all support fast charging.

Other more specialised power banks can charge laptops, have USB-C ports, and support tech such as Qualcomm’s Quick Charge.

So the next time you want to enjoy your tunes all day via a Bluetooth headset, then want to get your game on later, you'll want to consider one from our list of the best portable chargers for your phone or laptop.

1. Anker PowerCore 20,100 power bank

The best portable charger over-all

Huge battery
Quick-charge capabilities
Bulky
Not compatible with all devices

This is one of Anker's best portable chargers. With a whopping 20,100mAh battery inside, there's plenty there to juice up your phone or tablet multiple times before it needs a recharge itself.

It also comes with high-speed charging for your devices if they use PowerIQ or VoltageBoost. It won't be able to use Qualcomm's QuickCharge technology, but it'll still boost your device when you're on the go. And it comes at a very reasonable price.

2. iMuto 20,000mAh power bank

Large capacity with two ports

Affordable
Plenty of back-up charge
Chunky design
Heavy

It might be a tad clunky, but if you're after an affordable high capacity portable charger, then this iMuto power bank could be the one for you. With a 20,000mAh capacity, you'll have enough charge to juice your smartphone four times, and still have some left over in case of emergencies.

The one advantage the iMuto has over the Anker PowerCore mentioned above is that this can charge some MacBooks and laptops as well, but you will have to check if your device is compatible with the charger. However, given it's available for under $50 in Australia, this is a no-brainer.

3. Mophie PowerStation Plus

Built-in cables are always a plus

Integrated cables
Premium design
Relatively expensive

With a premium look and built-in cable tips for both microUSB and Apple Lightning, the Mophie PowerStation Plus also features a second USB port so you can charge a second device, but you will need to get your own USB-C cable for that.

The Powerstation Plus offers 2.1A output and smart adaptive charging technology, giving your devices a quick top-up.

The Mophie PowerStation Plus not only comes in different colour options, but also various capacities in a rather premium-looking build. The PowerStation Plus Mini carries a 4,000mAh battery while the PowerStation Plus XL sports a huge 12,000mAh capacity.

4. Dell Power Companion PW7015M

Charge your laptop and your phone

Dual power tips
Compatible with only Dell laptops

Charging laptops alongside USB devices is very useful, but some models are not supported by the ‘universal’ power banks. The Dell Power Companion solves that issue, with a 18,000mAh or 12,000mAh (as tested) power bank with dual 2.1A USB ports, as well as laptop charging.

The unit plugs in between your laptop and its PSU, rather than having its own charger. This is a great setup, as it means the unit is always charged (though tops off the laptop first), and automatically kicks in if mains power is lost.

This portable laptop charger comes with both the large and small Dell power tips (and charges from either) – or there is also a USB-C version.

Using a large to small tip adapter, we were also able to charge an HP laptop, but this power bank was designed to work with Dell's offerings.  In testing, the Power Companion outputted an outstanding 100% of its rated capacity via USB.

The Power Companion is more expensive than most laptop charging power banks, but is still a must-have purchase for on-the-go Dell laptop owners.

Best portable charger

5. Xiaomi Mi Power Bank Pro

Sleek and affordable

Qualcomm Quick Charge support
Can charge laptops
Very affordable
Single USB-A port

While most power banks for phones support 5V 2A fast charging, the Xiaomi Power Bank Pro steps it up a notch with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

The tech is only supported on some phones and tablets for now, but allows devices to charge at 9V or 12V, rather than just 5V 2A. Even better, the power bank itself can be quick charged with a compatible charger, for quick top ups.

The unit has a 10,000mAh capacity, and a single USB Type-A port. It also has a USB-C connection, but it only works for charging the power bank, not as an output.

Importantly, it does support passthrough charging, and can even charge itself from a phone. The power bank can also be used to charge compatible laptops that use USB-C.

The Mi Power Bank Pro managed to output a very impressive 99% of its rated capacity. It’s also one of the lightest and smallest portable chargers available at the moment, measuring in at 130 x 75 x 12mm, and weighing just 225 grams.

6. Jackery Force 260 12,000mAh portable charger

Keeping it colourful

Colour options available
Dual USB ports
Expensive

It may not have the highest capacity in our round-up, but the Jackery Force 260 comes in bright orange and in gold, if you don't like plain ol' black as a colour option.   It also features two USB ports, meaning you can juice up two handheld devices at the same time in case everything's suddenly gone completely dead at the same time.

It also supports Smart Fit technology which does provide fast charging capabilities. And, with a 12,000mAh capacity, there's about 260 hours worth of extra power stored in the Force 260 to keep you going while you're out and about.

7. RAVPower 20,100mAh USB-C portable charger

Quick charge every device

QC 3.0 support
Charges laptops
No USB-C c

There's plenty of backup power here to not only keep your handheld devices a boost, but also give your laptop some much-needed juice if you're running low. The best part is that the whopping capacity comes in a relatively small form factor, so it's easy enough to carry around.

There's a USB-A port with Quick Charge 3.0 support, a regular 2.4A USB-A port and a 3A USB-C port for laptops. Devices compatible with the Qualcomm chipset will charge 75% faster, but you can plug in two devices into the USB-A ports and give them a boost simultaneously if needed.

No USB-C cable ships with this power bank, so if you think you'll need it to top up your laptop, then you'll need to buy it separately.

Perfect for a long drive

Great value for money
Built-in LED torch
Slightly bulky

Rather than a flat form factor, the TP-Link TL-PB10400 has a tall, rectangular shape that measures in at 89mm x 44mm x 44mm and weighs 241 grams. While not great for slipping into a pocket, this portable charger does sit well in car and bag drink holders.

Hidden inside is a large 10,400mAh capacity, with four LEDs to indicate the charge level.

The power bank has dual USB ports, with one rated for 2A and the other for 1A. It charges via micro USB (and includes a cable), handling a 2A current.

One handy feature of the TP-Link is an inbuilt LED torch, which is activated by holding down the power button.

In testing, the TP-Link power bank outputted 98% of its usable capacity, and had no problems supplying over 2 amps. It also supports passthrough charging, though the side location of the micro USB input makes it hard to charge in a bag.

The TL-PB10400 is quite affordable at under $50 (shop around online), which results in a great mAh per dollar rating.

9. Belkin Pocket Power 10K

Keep the power in your pocket

Slim design
Inexpensive
No quick charging

Not only will you be able to top up your smartphone a few times, thanks to the 10,000mAh capacity, you'll be able to slip this into any bag or pocket if you're rushing out the door.

There are two traditional 2.4A USB Type-A ports for your handheld devices and the power bank comes with a micro-USB cable to recharge the pack itself.

Belkin uses sensors to monitor heat and voltage in its portable chargers, so if it overheats, the device will shut down automatically and not harm your phone. It's also available in a few colour options, like silver and rose gold.

 Portable backup batteries buyer’s guide

  • Capacity: A 5,000mAh is a good starting point to get up to two full recharges from a smartphone, but a larger 10,000mAh model is best for tablets.
  • Passthrough charging: This handy feature allows you to plug the power bank between your charger and device, and charge both at once.
  • USB ports: Most larger-capacity models have two ports, which is very important if you need to charge more than one device at a time.
  • Input charge rate: Typically, 1A or 2A (higher is better), this determines how quickly your power bank can charge itself back up again.
  • Fast charge: Power banks supporting currents over 1A helps charge your device quicker, and is needed by some power-hungry tablets.
  • Charger not included: While they all come with a cable, power banks generally need to be plugged into an existing charger or USB port to charge.
  • Qualcomm quick charge: Only supported by some new phones, this tech allows devices to be charged up to four times faster than normal 5V USB.
  • Form factor and weight: With many different shapes, some power banks are better suited to use in bags, or being carried around.

Where to buy a Nintendo Switch in Australia

With things slowly getting back to normal in most of Australia's states and territories, Nintendo Switch stock has started return to store shelves and online retailers. That said, the highly sought-after console/handheld doesn't tend to stay in stock for very long, meaning it's best to act fast in order to secure a unit. Here are the best Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite deals in Australia at the moment.

Nintendo Switch console (2019 edition) | AU$448

It seems like every time Nintendo Switch consoles (with docking station and detachable Joy-Cons) are back in stock at Amazon Australia, they sell out incredibly fast! Thankfully, the console is back in stock once again, meaning you can pick up the Switch in both the  Neon Blue/Red Joy-Cons or Grey Joy-Cons versions right now for AU$448 if you hurry! We don't expect this batch to last long, so grab yours today!View Deal

Nintendo Switch Lite: Amazon Australia – AU$298

While Nintendo Switch Lite consoles had temporarily sold out in some colours, Amazon now has it stocked in every shade for only AU$298 – that's AU$30.95 off the RRP. That means you can pick up the grey,  coralturquoise and yellow editions right now. Better hurry though, we can't imagine every colour will be available for long.

Nintendo Switch Lite: Kogan – AU$299

Kogan still has some of Nintendo Switch Lite units in stock at varying prices, with the coralyellow, grey and turquoise versions now priced lower than before at AU$299 – which is AU$30.95 cheaper than the RRP.

No Nintendo Switch in stock? Here's where to buy a Switch Lite

The Nintendo Switch Lite is a handheld-only console, while the Nintendo Switch functions as a home console, too, plugging into your TV. That said, if you want a Nintendo Switch right now, the Switch Light is far easier to get hold of. Here's where it's in stock right now.

Why is the Nintendo Switch selling out?

It's a combination of a few factors: the global pandemic has led to a rush of people buying the console to fill their hours indoors, which isn't surprising. At the same time, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has released, a long-awaited game and a massive crossover hit that's captured the imaginations of a wider, mainstream audience. The Switch has been regularly selling out for a while now. This has just exacerbated the issue.

In addition, back in February, Bloomberg posted a report warning that a potential bottleneck with component supplies coming out of China (caused by coronavirus) would see stock dry up as soon as April. If the reasoning mentioned in that report was correct, it looks like they were pretty on the money with the timing, except stock looks like it'll be gone even faster than that.

"Nintendo Switch hardware is selling out at various retail locations in the US, but more systems are on the way. We apologize for any inconvenience," is what Nintendo told THR in a statement. So, more stock is on the way. But when will you you be able to buy a Nintendo Switch?

When will the Nintendo Switch be back in stock?

The situation is hard to predict given that Nintendo has reportedly faced supply line issues over the current health crisis, but Nintendo intends to make 10% more consoles than it did in 2019 to help meet the increase in demand (assuming its supply lines can keep up). A Nintendo representative told Nikkei, though, that it can't be sure how many Switch units will be supplied as it procures parts for the console.

Our prediction? The Switch will be hard to get hold of all year, but we'd be surprised if we see many more new units released as parts of the world are in lockdown. We're hopeful we'll see the Switch more readily available in the summer months.

Again, this is just our best guess, but you can be guaranteed that when the Switch does come back, folks will be rushing to claim the new consoles. It's very likely to sell out again.

In the meantime, our advice is to avoid being gouged by third-party sellers who are inflating the price. $299.99/£279.99/AU$469 is the MSRP/RRP for the regular Switch, while $199.99/£199.99/AU$329 is the price for the Switch Lite. Paying above that isn't worth it unless you're picking up a bundle with games and accessories.

Where to buy Nintendo Switch when stock returns

As soon as those consoles hit that warehouse, retailers are going to want to get them on the shelves. And you can bet they'll be flying into delivery trucks just as quickly. If you hear word that the Nintendo Switch is back in stock in the US, Amazon and Walmart will be your best bet.

With massive warehouse inventories, speedy delivery, and quick checkout processes, these retailers are primed to pick up your Nintendo Switch order ahead of the queue. Plus, in all our time covering Nintendo Switch bundle deals, these stores have consistently won out in value, meaning you're more likely to grab some extras for your cash.

where to buy Nintendo Switch

In the UK, Currys and Game are likely to offer the first bundles of the pack, though don't underestimate the power of Argos same day delivery if you want your console now. We'll likely see the best prices come out of Currys, who are normally reluctant to increase the cost of the console as demand reaches its peak, and if you're looking for the fastest checkout times to secure yours before everyone else, you'll want to keep an eye on Amazon as well.

If stock has already been wiped clean at these retailers by the time you get there, you'll still be left wondering where to buy a Nintendo Switch. Luckily, plenty of non-tech retailers stock the Nintendo Switch as well, so you'll have luck with John Lewis, Jacamo and Studio among others.

In Australia, Amazon is likely your best bet, though it's worth keeping an eye on other online stores, such as Kogan and eBay. While it might take a while, big retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and Big W are also likely to receive new stock, and game retailers such as EB Games and The Gamesmen are also expected to get more units soon.

Don't leave yourself wondering where to buy a Nintendo Switch on the day, get prepped now and you have every chance of bagging one when the masses flock to the shelves.

Right now, you're more likely to find a Switch Lite than you are a regular Switch, but stock is still selling out fast. Here's a quick price comparison chart for the Switch Lite:
