Th good news is, US leaders seem to agree there should be another stimulus check. Based on what we know, here are some tips to start calculating how much you and your family could get in a second payment.
Just as was widely expected, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), through its subsidiary Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) has acquired a majority equity stake in Vitalic Health and its subsidiaries (collectively known as ‘Netmeds’) for a deal worth Rs 620 crore.
This investment represents 60% holding in Vitalic and 100% direct equity ownership of its subsidiaries: Tresara Health Private Limited, Netmeds Market Place Limited and Dadha Pharma Distribution Pvt Limited.
Incorporated in 2015, Vitalic and its subsidiaries are in the business of pharma distribution, sales, and business support services. Its subsidiary also runs the online pharmacy platform Netmeds, which in a sense provides the basis for the whole deal.
Speaking on this strategic investment, Isha Ambani, Director, RRVL, in a press statement, said, “the addition of Netmeds enhances Reliance Retail’s ability to provide good quality and affordable health care products and services, and also broadens its digital commerce proposition to include most daily essential needs of consumers. We are impressed by Netmeds’ journey to build a nationwide digital franchise in such a short time and are confident of accelerating it with our investment and partnership.”
Pradeep Dadha, Founder & CEO, Netmeds, said, “It is indeed a proud moment for 'Netmeds' to join Reliance family and work together to make quality healthcare affordable and accessible to every Indian. Netmeds, is a fully licensed e-pharma portal that offers authenticated prescription and Over the Counter (OTC) medicine along with other health products. Netmeds offers fast delivery of prescription medications to over 20,000 pin codes. Netmeds has served over 5.7 million customers in more than 670 cities and towns.
Consumers get access to more than 70,000 prescription drugs and thousands of non-prescription goods for wellness, health, and personal care.
Netmeds is promoted by Dadha Pharma, a Chennai-based company pharma company that was started in 1914, and got into drug manufacturing in 1972.
The fact that it is an Indian company allows it to maintain inventory as per Indian government rules for e-commerce. This is something that works against Amazon India.
Reliance Retail has an existing tie-up with Netmeds --- in May they joined hands together to deliver groceries also from its online retail store JioMart.
Netmeds valuation - It raised three rounds - $50M, $14M, $35M - a total of $99M. Assuming reliance ONLY paid 620 cr for Netmeds (it got 60% of the parent), the group was valued at 1000 cr. That's about $150M. Looks like the investors will just about recover their investment.August 18, 2020
It's all happening on the e-pharmacy front
What is most interesting is Reliance acquiring Netmeds comes less than a week after Amazon itself started selling medicines online. It has rolled out the Amazon Pharmacy service in Bengaluru allowing customers to order medical supplies and prescription drugs, among others.
The entry of the heavyweight RIL shows how lucrative the online pharma business is now. It is a happening time for the segment as online ordering and delivery of medicines has increased following the Covid-19 outbreak as customers stay at home and follow social distancing norms. According to one research, this market segment is expected to touch $3.7 billion by 2022.
Apart from Reliance and Amazon, another e-commerce biggie, the Walmart-owned Flipkart is also planning to jump into this pharma bandwagon.

It's a combination of a few factors: the global pandemic has led to a rush of people buying the console to fill their hours indoors, which isn't surprising. At the same time, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has released, a long-awaited game and a massive crossover hit that's captured the imaginations of a wider, mainstream audience. The Switch has been regularly selling out for a while now. This has just exacerbated the issue.
In addition, back in February, Bloomberg posted a report warning that a potential bottleneck with component supplies coming out of China (caused by coronavirus) would see stock dry up as soon as April. If the reasoning mentioned in that report was correct, it looks like they were pretty on the money with the timing, except stock looks like it'll be gone even faster than that.
"Nintendo Switch hardware is selling out at various retail locations in the US, but more systems are on the way. We apologize for any inconvenience," is what Nintendo told THR in a statement. So, more stock is on the way. But when will you you be able to buy a Nintendo Switch?
When will the Nintendo Switch be back in stock?
The situation is hard to predict given that Nintendo has reportedly faced supply line issues over the current health crisis, but Nintendo intends to make 10% more consoles than it did in 2019 to help meet the increase in demand (assuming its supply lines can keep up). A Nintendo representative told Nikkei, though, that it can't be sure how many Switch units will be supplied as it procures parts for the console.
Our prediction? The Switch will be hard to get hold of all year, but we'd be surprised if we see many more new units released as parts of the world are in lockdown. We're hopeful we'll see the Switch more readily available in the summer months.
Again, this is just our best guess, but you can be guaranteed that when the Switch does come back, folks will be rushing to claim the new consoles. It's very likely to sell out again.
In the meantime, our advice is to avoid being gouged by third-party sellers who are inflating the price. $299.99/£279.99/AU$469 is the MSRP/RRP for the regular Switch, while $199.99/£199.99/AU$329 is the price for the Switch Lite. Paying above that isn't worth it unless you're picking up a bundle with games and accessories.
Where to buy Nintendo Switch when stock returns
As soon as those consoles hit that warehouse, retailers are going to want to get them on the shelves. And you can bet they'll be flying into delivery trucks just as quickly. If you hear word that the Nintendo Switch is back in stock in the US, Amazon and Walmart will be your best bet.

We'll likely see the best prices come out of Currys, who are normally reluctant to increase the cost of the console as demand reaches its peak, and if you're looking for the fastest checkout times to secure yours before everyone else, you'll want to keep an eye on Amazon as well.
If stock has already been wiped clean at these retailers by the time you get there, you'll still be left wondering where to buy a Nintendo Switch. Luckily, plenty of non-tech retailers stock the Nintendo Switch as well, so you'll have luck with John Lewis, Jacamo and Studio among others.
In Australia, Amazon is likely your best bet, though it's worth keeping an eye on other online stores, such as Kogan and eBay. While it might take a while, big retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and Big W are also likely to receive new stock, and game retailers such as EB Games and The Gamesmen are also expected to get more units soon.
Don't leave yourself wondering where to buy a Nintendo Switch on the day, get prepped now and you have every chance of bagging one when the masses flock to the shelves.
Right now, you're more likely to find a Switch Lite than you are a regular Switch, but stock is still selling out fast. Here's a quick price comparison chart for the Switch Lite:
Kogan Internet is the latest ISP to offer blisteringly-fast broadband with the launch of its NBN1000 plan, and it’s making its presence known by offering the new 1Gbps service for the lowest price in Australia.
Kogan is slinging its NBN1000 plan for AU$134.90 a month, but that’s only for your first six months. After that, it bumps up to AU$148.90 each billing.
If you want to jump ship before the price rises, that’s easily done as Kogan offers no lock-in contract and no activation fee across all its internet plans.
As has become the norm, you’ll get a discount on your first six months with Kogan Internet. That makes its brand-new NBN1000 offering the cheapest 1000Mbps plan available in Australia. You’ll pay AU$134.90 for your first six months, after which your monthly bill will bump up to AU$148.90. This plan is only available to those with a FTTP connection or select HFC users.
There are some finer details you should be aware of here – the NBN1000 tier is a new service that offers unlimited download speeds of up to 1000Mbps.
According to the critical information summary provided by Kogan though, “this plan is associated with the NBN Home Ultrafast product which is provisioned with a maximum connection speed of 500Mbps (download) and 50Mbps (upload)”.
It goes on to state, “speeds on this plan are variable and you will typically experience slower speeds than the maximum connection speed available on your plan”.
We’ve reached out to Kogan to clarify whether this means that speeds above 500Mbps aren't available on this plan, or if it’s just that typical off-peak speeds on NBN1000 plans aren’t yet known due to a lack of user data. We’ll update the article when we’ve heard more.
Kogan advises its typical evening speed for the NBN1000 Diamond plan is 250Mbps.
The NBN’s fastest consumer speed tier isn’t available to everyone. To get an NBN1000 plan, you’ll need either a fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) or a hybrid fibre coaxial (HFC) connection.
Any home with a FTTP connection can sign up for the 1Gbps plan, though it’s only available to a select number of HFC installations, around 7% of the total amount.
