The WD Elements desktop hard disk drive is the most affordable hard drive on the market, regardless of form factor (2.5-inch or 3.5-inch) and type (internal or external).
At $220, the 12TB version (WDBWLG0120HBK) is already a bargain and it's the cheapest per TB across the range. However, using the trick described below, you can shave another 15% off the price, bringing the cost to just under $187. That's a mere $15.58 per Terabyte - the lowest we’ve seen in a year (since last Amazon Prime Day, actually).
The WD Elements range provides reliable high capacity storage with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 compatibility. The drives come with a two-year warranty and have been formatted to NTFS. This device is likely to have a 3.5-inch 5400RPM drive spinning inside, which makes it perfect for backup storage.

Mariners vs Astros live stream: how to watch the MLB series online in the US
This weekend's Mariners vs Astros series isn't one of those chosen for national television, meaning you'll need to turn to your local sports broadcaster for in-market viewing.
In Houston and the surrounding area, this means tuning into AT&T SportsNet Southwest, while in Seattle, Root Sports Northwest will have you covered. Both options are available to watch online with cable TV (just log-in with details of your provider) or stream via an over-the-top service.
OTT service AT&T TV Now is the one for Houston and Seattle fans to check out, as it offers Root Sports Northwest in its Max package lineup and has also just added AT&T SportsNet Southwest to its regional channel offering this week - but it’ll set you back $80 per month, which isn't cheap.
FuboTV also carries AT&T SportsNet Southwest and may be a better bet for Astros fans as it comes in cheaper at $54.99 p/m. But doesn't offer ESPN, MLB Network, or TBS, so isn't great for all-round baseball fans.

However, it's not airing any of this weekend's Astros vs Mariners series, which sees game 1 starting at 2:10am BST early on Saturday morning, game 2 at 9.10pm that same evening, and game 3 starting at 7.10pm on Sunday evening.
This means UK fans of the Astros and Mariners will need to turn to MLB.TV to watch the the series live this weekend. The MLB streaming service is also available in the UK, where it costs approximately £50 for the full works and blackout rules obviously don't apply.

Unfortunately, the tradition of Australians getting the short end of the stick when it comes to smartphone colour options continues with the LG Velvet, as the phone will only be available in Aurora White and Aurora Grey when it launches Down Under. That means Aussies will miss out on the LG Velvet's stunningly beautiful Illusion Sunset variant, along with a number of other colours that are available overseas.
Although an exact release date has not been revealed, LG has stated that the Velvet will be available to purchase from from JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and selected telcos "in the coming weeks."

This is the first time we've come across Auktion, but the brand has certainly piqued our interest. It hails from popular online electronics marketplace Gearbest and appears to be one of the dozens of laptop resellers to come out of China, but with one crucial difference.
The Auktion H15 is currently the most affordable laptop on the market that comes with a 1TB SSD out of the box, available for just $479.99 (or £386.40/AU$695.99).
Yes, you could of course buy one with a much smaller SSD, then purchase a 1TB drive and use a disc cloning software to transfer your operating system. But for most of us, the saving isn't worth the hassle.
The H15 features some pretty standard hardware: the quasi-ubiquitous Intel Celeron J4115 processor (four-core, four-threads), 8GB DDR4 memory, 15.6-inch full HD display, dedicated numeric keypad and a backlit keyboard.
At 1.4kg, it is surprisingly light for a laptop with this form factor, but we do have a few concerns about the device too.
We were frustrated learn about the lack of extra ports; the device features only two USB ports (one 2.0 and one 3.0), one mini HDMI, one card reader and one headphone jack.
The battery capacity at 29.6WHr is also meager in comparison to modern laptops, so don’t expect much in terms of battery life (the vendor claims that it will last at least three hours). Wireless connectivity is limited to 802.11n as well - no Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6.
If this product comes from mainland China, it will take at least a month to reach either the US or UK (and potentially more). You may be levied a tax either directly or through the courier.

Amidst all the euphoria of the launch of the OnePlus Nord which marks the company's return to the mid-tier models, the Chinese smartphone maker has suffered two security bloopers within just a month, the last one resulting in sharing customer emails across a wide spectrum.
A report in Android Police said OnePlus sent out a mass mailer to customers as part of a study earlier today but ended up copy-pasting hundreds of email addresses in the "To" field, totally missing out the functionality of the BCC field. This resulted in all recipients of the research email receiving hundreds of customer email addresses. Quite a faux pas that!
The report said the email possibly contained a UX survey around the OnePlus and reached only those in the United States (yet again).
Late last month, OnePlus faced another security challenge when its out-of-warranty repair and advance exchanging invoice system exposed customer details such as names, phone details, email addresses, IMEI numbers and physical addresses. The breach only impacted customers in the United States and was promptly fixed. This was once again brought to fore by Android Police.
Compared to these breaches, the latest one can be termed as minor though it does expose chinks in the OnePlus processes. The company had confirmed early in 2018 that the credit card info of 40,000 customers had been compromised. It had stated that this theft of information happened over the course of two months, starting in November of 2017.
The company had responded then by temporarily disabling credit card payments while advising affected customers to monitor their bank statements. It also offered a year's worth of free credit reporting to customers whose data was breached.
Another data breach occurred last November when OnePlus was a victim of a hacking incident that exposed customer names, email addresses and shipping addresses. However, once again the company stepped up its act and informed customers that their payment data and passwords weren't exposed or accessed by third parties.
Nothing really to worry about
The latest incident occurred earlier today though Android Police said they couldn't verify the exact number of people whose data was included in the leak, but described it as "fairly minor" as the data had only reached others on the mail thread. The report quoted an unnamed person to suggest that "hundreds of email addresses" were present in the mail.
These instances are reasonably common with media agencies who dish out press releases to journalists before someone on the list notices it, responds by bringing it to the notice of the PR company, and then watches the fun as everyone else on the mail starts expanding the trail with similar responses.
