Oppo is all set to officially launch the Reno 4 series of smartphone in India and the launch date is finally confirmed. The Oppo Reno 4 Pro will debut on July 31st and will be available online via Flipkart (and Amazon). But as per latest hints, Oppo is also bringing the Reno 4 Global variant along with the Oppo Watch.

A report on  Moneycontrol says the device will have few tweaks compared to the Chinese variant that launched back in June. According to their sources, the Indian variant is said to have a 6.5-inch AMOLED FHD+ curved display with 90Hz refresh rate screen.

Interestingly, the report claims that the device will have a quad-camera setup with a 48MP main shooter, along with 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP Macro and a 2MP depth sensor. This is different from the Chinese variant as it had triple-camera setup with 48MP wide-angle, a 12MP Telephoto and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

The front punch-hole is, however, said to retain the 32MP selfie shooter. Reports say that the rear camera setup will record slow-motion video upto 960fps.

Powering the Chinese variant is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G 5G SoC. However, tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed that the Global variant of the Pro which leaked with Snapdragon 720G 4G SoC recently, is heading to India too. This could mean that Oppo might bring both the variants or just the Global variant to India as 5G is still far away from the country.

All these will be backed up by a 4,000mAh battery with support Oppo’s 65W Super VOOC 2.0. The device will run Oppo’s Color OS 7.2 based on Android 10.

Interestingly enough, the launch will also see the debut of Oppo Watch in India. The smart wearable launched a few months back in China and the reports say that 41mm and 46mm variants of the Smartwatch will arrive in India and boast White, Pink and Black, Gold colours respectively.

The 46mm has a 1.91-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 402x476 pixels whereas the 41mm variant has a slightly lower 1.6-inch display with 302x360 pixels. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon wear 2500 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, the watch will have features like sleep, heart-rate monitoring and more.

The report says that 41mm and 46mm will be priced at Rs.14,999 and 19,999 respectively. As for the Reno 4 Pro, it will be available for sale in Starry Night, Silky White colours from August 5 with a limited three days screen-damage protection offer valid for 180 days.

The Realme 6i will launch in India this week. The company has started sending out invites for the launch event which is scheduled for July 24th launch.

The Realme 6i invite says about the performance and display, which will most likely be the UPS of the device. The launch event will be streamed online at 12:30 pm on July 24.

According to the previous report, the Realme 6i in India will be the rebranded version of Realme 6s that was announced recently alongside the Realme X3 SuperZoom global launch in Europe. The device is confirmed to feature MediaTek Helio G90T SoC.

The Realme 6i will be the successor to the Realme 5i which is currently available in India for Rs 11,999. With the Realme 6i, the Realme 6 series family will be completed. Previously, the company had announced Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro in India.

Realme 6i Specifications

Since the device is expected to come out as the rebranded Realme 6s, here is what to expect from the Realme 6i in India. For starters, you get a 6.5-inch Full HD+ screen with 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, the device comes with MediaTek G90T chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

On to the optics, there is a 48MP quad-camera array with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP portrait lens, and a 2MP macro lens. You get a 16MP selfie camera which houses inside the dew-drop notch.

The Realme 6s comes with a 4,300mAh battery with 30W flash charge via Type-C port. So, we can expect the Realme 6i also to pack in the same battery. Other key features of the device include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

On paper, the device looks very similar to the Realme 6. The only major difference here will be the camera setup. Instead of 64MP quad-camera array, the Realme 6i is expected to feature a 48MP setup.

The 4+64GB model is priced at  €199 in Europe, which is around Rs 16,500 in India. We expect the price of the device to be around Rs 15,000 when launched in India.

Following the news that Microsoft's Xbox One X and One S All-Digital consoles have been discontinued ahead of the upcoming Xbox Series X's release, it now appears that the console maker is quietly phasing out its current implementation of Xbox Live Gold too.

The company confirmed to True Achievements that it is no longer selling 12-month subscriptions to the service on its online store, instead offering only 1-month and 3-month subscriptions only.

"At this time, Xbox has decided to remove the 12 months Xbox Live Gold SKU from the Microsoft online Store," said a Microsoft spokesperson to the site, further explaining that "Customers can still sign up for a one month or three month Xbox Live Gold subscription online through the Microsoft Store."

What is Microsoft planning for next-gen?

While no reason was given for the decision, it may be an indication that Microsoft is planning a major overhaul of its online services going into the next generation, and will likely reveal those plans closer to the launch of Xbox Series X at the end of the year.

So what could Xbox's online services look like going forward? Given the enormous success of its Xbox Game Pass subscription, it's entirely possible that Microsoft could roll Xbox Live Gold's functionality into that, ending the need to subscribe to two separate services. Whether that would result in a price hike is, at this point, obviously an open question.

And then there's Microsoft's upcoming game streaming service, Project xCloud, which has so far seen "hundreds of thousands" of beta testers stream Xbox games from PCs to mobile devices, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

It's entirely possible that Microsoft took a good, long look at Xbox Live Gold and what it offers, and has decided that it was one online service too many for Xbox's future. Of course, for now this is all just speculation, but given there are still many unknowns around the Xbox Series X family's launch, Microsoft looks like it'll have a lot to announce later in the year.
